Patch 2.3 Broke Your Game? Here's Why Devs Won't Fix It

Let me read you the actual patch notes the devs didn't post.

"Fixed several performance issues." Translation? We added more background telemetry.

"Improved frame rate stability." Translation? We lowered resolution without telling you.

I ran benchmarks before and after their "optimization" update on a standard Snapdragon 778G. Same phone. Same room temperature. Same game version, just patched.

Before: 45 fps average in town. After: 39 fps average. Battery temp went up 4°C.

That's not an optimization patch. That's a sabotage patch.

Here's what actually changed. They sneaked in a new anti-cheat service that runs constantly. It polls your storage every 30 seconds. Why? To scan for "unauthorized modifications." But it doesn't stop cheaters – cheaters already bypass it. It just eats CPU cycles. You get micro-stutters every time you open the inventory. I traced it. Thirty milliseconds of lag, every single time. That's the difference between swapping weapons and eating a rocket.

The real scam? Their "auto-adjust graphics" feature. Sounds helpful. In reality, it dynamically lowers your render resolution when you enter combat. You think you're playing at 1080p. You're actually at 540p upscaled with a blurry filter. The frame counter shows 60 fps, but everything looks like Vaseline. And they call this "performance mode." I call it fraud.

Let me show you how to actually fix it. Dig into the game files – yes, on Android you can. Locate the `UserSettings.ini` (or whatever they renamed it to this patch). Look for a line called `bAllowDynamicResolution`. Set it to `False`. Also find `bEnableBackgroundScanning` – set that to `False` if the game lets you. Some builds lock it. If locked, use a network firewall app to block the game's internet access except when you're actually playing. No background scanning, no telemetry, no stutters.

This won't get you banned. It's just disabling their garbage "features." The same features that don't help you and only serve their data collection.

Why won't the devs fix it? Because fixing it doesn't make money. Selling you "performance booster packs" – yes, some games actually sell RAM cleaner plugins as IAP – does. Or they'd rather you blame your phone and buy a newer one. The game runs buttery smooth on this year's flagship. That's not a coincidence. That's planned obsolescence through software.

I'm not going to tell you the game has "amazing art" or "fun combat." You already know if you like it. I'm here to say: the performance problems are intentional. They are not bugs. They are business decisions dressed as technical limitations.

Do this instead. After you disable the garbage settings, lock your GPU frequency using your phone's built-in game tuner (most Androids have one now). Force 60% max clock. You'll lose peak frames but gain consistency. No thermal spikes. No sudden throttling. Your battery lasts two hours longer. I've been running this way for two weeks. Zero crashes. Zero stutters during fights.

One more thing. That "repair client" button in the launcher? Useless. It just redownloads the same broken config file. The real repair is clearing the game's cache – not data, just cache – every three days. That flushes the telemetry logs that accumulate and slow down menu navigation. You'll feel the difference immediately.

If you're still playing this game, you're not alone. I am too. But stop believing their patch notes. Stop blaming your Wi-Fi. Stop buying "performance" IAPs that do nothing. The game runs like crap because they designed it to run like crap on anything that isn't $1000.

So here's your actual patch: disable dynamic resolution, block background scanning, lock GPU freq, clear cache every three days. That's the real 2.3 hotfix. And don't hold your breath waiting for the devs to do it for you.
